back for more

After a short weekend.....i'm back in Philly for more.

I got home friday night and promptly took a 12 hour nap. It was great.
Got my nails done Saturday then off to Scott's house with Mike and some friends for drinks and food. It was a nice evening.
Sunday I got up and packed and left. I caught a cold somehwere in the process and have done nothing but sneeze and blow my nose all afternoon and evening. It sucks. I hate being sick and it's worse when you are in a freaking hotel. Totally sucks. At least Desperate Housewives is good!

Oh yeah and PENN STATE LOST! YEEEEEEE HAW!

Stay tuned........

wow

Holy crap.
Lt. Savoy informed me this morning that I am walking onto the most dangerous block every morning by coming to his office. Apparently the bozos lined up along the street as I'm entering the building (and getting into the elevator with them!!!!) are murderers, rapists, kidnappers, etc. who are out on parole/probation. Some of them are multiple offenders. Nasty people.
So.........the Lieutenant gave me his cell number and said 'anytime you are in this city and need anything you call me." They love me there.

One of the guys they brought in today (and threw him in the holding cell which was directly behind the 2 girls I was helping) decided he'd 'play with himself' while in the cell. My buddy the Lt. came running, there was yelling, then they took him out, handcuffed and shackled. Interesting stuff.

I Survived Day 1

It has been a trip already.
Departed Mburg at Noon on Sunday, arrived at 2. Threw the luggage of 26 people into the lobby of the hotel and left for work. Worked until 9 then checked in.........and went to bed.

Monday- Up at 6, breakfast at 7, work at 7:30........on my feet until 5:30........sat in a meeting until 7:30. I'm dying! However......I must say, the Warrant Unit is a fascinating office to be working in. Everyone in there is in their black swat clothes with the mace and the guns on their belts. I was lucky enough to be ecsorted to Dunkin Donuts by one of the warrant officers and thank god i was. There is this crazy homeless lady who stands outside SCREAMING and preaching as you TRY to go around her. There are some colorful people in this building i'm in. I think when I came back from lunch there were about 60 or so people in line to get in.........these are all criminals coming to report for probation. VERY INTERESTING.
I also witnessed them brining in a lady they just arrested for something or other........she was not a happy person. Very loud. Then they found a knife in her purse. Lovely.
OH YEAH.........i was trying to find the steps and opened the 'womens holding cell' door by accident. The young lady at the desk beside me starts laughing and yells "AMY what are you doing?" I saw what was in the room and said "oops........i can't find the steps". They were dying. The room was empty but the bar across with the rings for them to cuff you to gave it away.

Day 1 down, 9 to go!

Gotta catch some Z's..........

T minus 23

Well.......23 hours till D-Day. We'll see if the power goes out in Philly tomorrow at 4pm.
The crew of 28 is departing Mburg at high noon for the adventure. Im thinking it's going to be crazy, but the crew going is awesome, so I'm sure it can't be THAT bad. (yeah right, stay tuned later in the week for updates. If you dont hear from me by next Saturday call the FBI please.) I figure as long as the homeless lady doesn't try to pee on me I should be fine. I'm kinda hoping Kramer was joking about her but I don't think he was! I'm taking lots of film so I can get a few snaps of this adventure.

Today I prepared for the adventure with a little retail therapy. First I had my nails done, then off to the Galleria Mall. I like that place. I hit Wilson's Leather for an awesome bag. Then I got hairspray, some food, water and an umbrella.

Wish me luck! Have a good week everyone!
Feel free to call and email me while I'm there!

WIPE OUT

I never read the sports section, but I felt obligated to take the front page of Sunday's sports section in to work and post it on my cube wall.
Do you remember what it said? Let me remind you:
WIPE OUT
And there was a nice picture of Jo Pa looking rather disturbed at the fact that his team was getting SPANKED. What a great day.........I know the group I was with enjoyed it!
Oh- back to the front page, at approximately 4pm today, Doc comes over and rips the posting off of my wall, balls it up, throws it away and leaves. No "hi, hello, how was your weekend?", just sheer crminal mischief.
I did tell one of my co-workers to enjoy the 2006 Orange Bowl win because the only thing PSU is going to win this year is the pansy bowl. I love it!

So........let's see.......what have I been up to?
Scrapping all day Saturday with the girls. Bunko. Getting ready for the trip to Philly (I think it's actually going to happen this time!). Lots of picnics and parties lately. Yum. Went to a Lamb Roast...........delicious! Hit Cape May for a few days, drove up to AC for an afternoon, it was great! Celebrated the oldest nieces 5th birthday. All great stuff.

I think I'm going to treat myself to a vacation towards the end of this year. I need 5 days on a hot sandy beach in the sun. Somewhere tropical. OR Since I love snow.......maybe up north somewhere? That would be fantastic! I'm a dreamer.........it probably won't happen.

Well Gus, here's your update. Please stay tuned next week, if my stint in Philly is anywhere as crazy as I'm being told it may be, you might see daily postings on here so i can describe the mayhem to you!
